            The capital city of San Fernando is world-famous for its annual Easter re-enactment of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is also famous for the Pampanga Christmas lanterns.

By Land: There are buses plying to the different parts of Pampanga daily from Manila, and these usually leave on an hourly basis. Buses like Victory Liner and Saulog Transit from Manila to Olongapo pass through San Fernando City. Philtranco, meanwhile, heads out directly to the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport and goes through Angeles City.


One can hire a car or a van (with or without a driver) from any of the car rental companies in Manila. Motorbikes with sidecars (tricycles) and bicycles with sidecars are the primary mode of transportation in Angeles and San Fernando Cities as well as jeepneys.

  • Kapampangan cuisine is widely thought to be among the most evolved and refined of Philippine culinary traditions thus gaining the name, “The Culinary Capital Of The Philippines”.
  • San Guillermo Parish Church has been one of the few places in Pampanga that has been ravaged by the lahar and it has gotten almost 3/4 of the church buried.
  • Paskuhan Village in the province of Pampanga is Asia's only Christmas theme park and the third of its kind in the world.


Go during Festival time but be prepared to wade through a crowd of people in the middle of searing heat especially during the Crucifixions. Check out the calendar for the festivals. October-April every year is the best season to go to the Candaba Wetlands, as the swamp is the staging and wintering area.



Approximately 80 kilometers north of Manila, Clark is reachable by land or air. Driving by car from Manila takes an hour and a half. Take the North Luzon Expressway and exit at Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga. Make a left turn toward Angeles City and then a right toward Clark. 

Clark may also be reached via the new Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). From the North Luzon Expressway, continue the drive leading to the SCTEX exit. You may use either the Clark North Intercharge (Panday Pira access road near Nayong Pilipino) or Clark South Interchange (near Yokohama and Clark Main Gate) to enter Clark. 

Public buses also ply the routs on a daily basis. Ride a Victory Liner bound for Degupan and alight at the Dau common terminal. Walk a bit toward the highway where jeepneys and tricycles are available. These vehicles can take you right up to the Clark gate. Another bus line, Philippine Rabbit, also has trips to Angeles, Pampanga, via Dau, and other buses going north may also pass the area. Ask the driver or cunductor beforehand to be sure.
