Agoo Semana Santa

 Pious rites the holy week in this oldest town of La Union is piognant.
In observance to the Passion of Christ, life-size statues in their ornately adorned
carrozas depicting the Stations on the Cross are pulled by devotees along the
processional roads in the town proper. The lanten Activities culminates with
the colorful salubong hinting the townspeople's renewed spirit.

San Fernando City Fiesta

Every month of February and March the province and the city play host
to a series of thanksgiving festivities in honour of its patron saint, Saint William the Hermit.

Baggak

Every April the town of Bauang, La Union comes alive to stage this event meaning “morning star”.
Typically the Ilocano is an early riser hence “Baggak” is his ultimate reference to start the day.
During this event, the revelries typify the exusberance of the Ilocano spirit of unity and industry.
This is also a fitting occasion and tribute to welcome and mingle with balikbayan.

Dinengdeng Festival

This is a festival related to the much-loved Ilocano Culinary staple that is
equally famous like pinakbet and bagnet. Every Ilocano household has its own version
of preparing and cooking “dinengdeng” and the town on agoo welcomes every foodie,
culinary and gournet enthusiast to saviour the fun of mixing a menu of home-grown
backyard vegetables like squash, eggplant, ampalaya, (bitter gourd), sitaw (string beans),
okra among others. Cooked through slow fire with aromatic bagoong (fish sauce), and to finally
add grilled add or fried fish/chuncks of bagnet before serving would complete the dish.
It's a cook fest and a kulinarya date in Agoo every end of the month of April.

Basi Festival

Every 1st week of May, the town of nagulian, La Union celebrates with fun the
genuine Ilocano art of wine making. “basi” the popular native local wine from fermented
sugarcane evokes a gamut of esteemed Ilocano tradition and heritage giving
the townspeople diverse reason to commemorate and celebrate.

Tabako Festival

This is a celebration to an industry that genuinely exemplifies the resilience and
sturdiness of the ilocano farmer. This native crop has been ingrained in his culture and heritage.
Every 2nd week of May, the Municipality of Tubao, La Union takes pride to its beautifu
harvest of tobbaco cigars, local and foreign smoking afficionados would certainly enjoy the pleasure of a puff.

Feast of our Lady of Caysasay

It is not surprising to witness the confluence of culture as a filipino
are known to be capable of dual faiths. Every September 21-26 devotees and the Filipino-Chinese
community in San Fernando City gather for annual pilgrimage with the
image of Our Lady of Caysasay (17” century image of the Immaculate
Conception– dated 1603) from the Ma-cho Taoist Temple to the Basilica of St. Martin in Taal
Batangas and would travel back to San Fernando City for a feast on its return.

La Union Surfing Break

For nature, sports and adventure enthusiasts, this is a three- day beach events
scheduled every last week of October. Gifted with a long stretch of coastline
dotted with white and gray beaches, water sports activities would ultimately give the “fun”
during the semestral break and more reason to frolic throughout the summer vacation.
